National Joint Stock Insurance Company "Oranta" performs aviation risks insurance according to Decree of The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine from October 12, 2002 ¹ 1535 "On procedure and rules for performing compulsory aviation insurance of civil aircraft" due to the following kinds:
aircraft insurance against risks of total loss of any aircraft or damage of its separate parts and components of construction;
liability insurance of aircraft’s operator against any damage caused to third parties as a result of any aviation accident with the participation of any insured aircraft;
liability insurance of an air carrier for any damage caused:
to life and health of any passenger from the moment of registration and admission to nominal list of the carrier till the moment, when the passenger has left the apron under the supervision of the carrier’s authorized person;
luggage, mail, cargo on the board of aircraft and during its loading/unloading;
insurance of aircraft crew members and other aircraft personnel against any damage, caused to life and health (death, disability, temporary incapacitation) during performance of their job responsibilities (from the beginning of preflight preparation and after finishing of flight works);
insurance of employees of aircraft works customer, of persons, connected with providing technological procedures during performance of aircraft works against any damage, caused to life and health (death, disability, temporary incapacitation) during performance of their job responsibilities to ensure technological procedures during carrying out aircraft works.
Additionally, (with the aim) to provide bigger (more complete) and many-sided insurance coverage, it is possible to extend insured risks, including:
spare parts insurance;
military risks insurance, etc.
Sum insured due to contracts of compulsory aviation insurance in civil aircraft is determined:
within the limits of airspace of Ukraine – according to Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine from October 12, 2002 ¹ 1535;
during international flights – according to legislation requirements of the countries, in/through which flights are performed;
Insurance tariff on each kind of compulsory aviation insurance in civil aircraft is determined depending on the kind of aircraft, its operation term and technical state, regions of flight performance, chosen risks and is within 0,02% to 8% of the Sum insured.
Insurance compensation is paid out within the limits of the Sum insured taking into consideration other insurance conditions:
by aircraft insurance – depending on the amount of direct property loss of (any) aircraft’s owner and/or operator as a result of its loss or damage;
by liability insurance to third parties, passengers, for luggage, mail, cargo – depending on the amount of damage, caused to life or health of passengers or third parties, or on the amount of losses, caused to any property of passengers or third parties, luggage, mail, cargo.
by insurance of aircraft crew members and other aircraft personnel and employees of aircraft works customer according to Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine from October 12, 2002 ¹ 1535;
